Repost - Happy B-day Grandma

I can't write another one today... After loosing my Godfather Larry and today being my Grandma's B-day I am struggling... So I am reposting this from a few years back. In remembrance of my Grandma DeAnn. Happy Happy B-day!! A day I treasure and still celebrate after your gone because if it wasn't for this day I wouldn't have the hero I adore.

My Grandma DeAnn (my mom's mom) is the greatest lady I have ever known. She would go out of her way to help anyone out. One of my many memories of her was after my parents divorced, my mom, my brother, and I lost the home we had grown up in. We had to move to a very small 2-bedroom apartment in Orem. My mom struggled to pay the bills and put food on the table for me and my brother. One day I came home to find boxes of grocery's on our table. There wasn't a note and nobody was there. I called my mom and she knew nothing about it. We found out later that Grandma had come by to drop off the grocery's, keep in mind she lived in Emery County, which is a 2 hour drive. That was the type of person she was. When I was 13 I went to live with Grandma and Grandpa. At the time I hated it but I have to say I wouldn't take back that time I was able to spend with them. If I only knew then what I do now I would have been a very different person. Anyway, Grandma knew I wasn't happy about living w/her. She was able to pull some strings to get me into Jr. High (I should have been in 6th grade but I was actually smart at that time). She also made every effort possible to help me have a good time. She went all out for my favorite holiday(Halloween) and made sure I had everything I wanted and needed. She is the wind beneath my wings and I love her and miss her more each day. I am a better person for knowing her and the world was a much better place when she was in it.

We little knew that day God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly in death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories. Your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as god calls us one by one the chain will link again."

"If tears could build a stairway, and memories build a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again"

A Joyous Reunion a Sad Goodbye

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland

The quote above is how I am feeling right now. I have wonderful memories of a wonderful man. Someone that always stuck by my Grandparents, was a GREAT friend and a GREAT Godfather to me. I know he is in a place with my Grandmother. What a great B-day presant for her (I know she doesn't celebrate her B-day after death but I still do so this is my thinking). Grandma will have a B-day on Thursday and I am sure she was there to welcome a GREAT friend into her arms today. While we say goodbye with tears in our eyes, she is smiling and saying hello.

While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. ~John Taylor

I still remember Larry's smile, his big bear hugs, the way he always made sure I understood who he was to me (my Godfather). He felt an honor you could see in this "calling". The last few years have been hard on him and I know he is at peace and out of pain but I wish I could have seen him once more....Same as my Grandma...Even though me seeing my Grandma wasn't as long as the span from me seeing Larry it is still a memory that pains me. Grandma died on a Friday and we (meaning the whole family) was planning a trip to see her that weekend.... We never made it.... With Larry, I had plans to go down and take my Grandpa and go camping with them....We never made it last year so this year we were going for sure. It was a trip I was sooo looking forward to with them and Grandpa but yet again....To late....It just reaffirms the saying "Don't put off tomrrow what you could have done today". It makes me want to go home and give my kids a BIG kiss and hug and tell them how much I love them.

Remember your loved ones today in every thought, every prayer, every secret wish. If you can tell them you love them because you never know what tomorrow will bring....

I love you Larry and I will miss you dearly!!

New Years 2011

So I haven't posted yet because I am VERY upset with my self that I have failed in my BIGGEST "goal" this year. I started working out on January 3 like I had planned. I made it a whole THREE!!! days.... UGG!!! REALLY!!! Then I got sick....and it stayed....and stayed....and is still here....Will it ever go away?? I had the worst stomach ache to start and a continuous headache then the nose started in and then the fever came... Well the fever only last a few hours but everything else is still lingering....IT is REALLY annoying... I have no energy as it is so I was struggling getting up at 4 but now....I am just worn out....Maybe I am just old... LOL.... New Year's was a blast though as always. We went bowling with the Nance clan:

And we ate REALLY fattening fries and onion rings and drank AWESOME beer :)

Then after bowling (we usually go to Amy and Dave's but this year changed) we went to Lori's house. She just bought a new house and it is BEAUTIFUL, it was great to see her new place. Jelous of her but happy for her all at the same time :) We rang in the New Year and then after what seemed like forever I finally talked Scott into letting me take him him (I was the driver so no "fun" for me). We made it home around 1:30 and this year the roads were not to bad so it was good.
It was a nice beginning to what I hope is a GREAT year. My resolutions this year are not resolutions they are goals. Things I NEED to do....I have 12 months so hopefully I can accomplish them...
1.  get back into shape (I am not saying loose weight I want to look and feel better so getting into shape is my goal)
2. get my budget under control (I want to start saving again but that will be next year so this year it is budget)
3. Take the kids on one hopefully 2 big family trips this year (I loved the camping trips but I really want to take them to Disneyland....)
4. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN I need to de-junk my house this may take me 12 months....LOL
5. Stay put until I am in a position to buy an AFFORDABLE (key word) house. SO TIRED OF MOVING!
6. BE HAPPY!! I have been in a funk for a while and I need to get out of it...Hopefully number 1 will help with this....

That is all... Not to much, not to hard, just setting my mind to doing it and getting it done (well get feeling better should be number 1).
Happy New Year Everyone!! :) (little late I know)
