Final Thankful Week

So my thankful weeks ended with "Turkey" Day. I didn't post any thankfuls on FB after that date.

22 - Today I am thankful for my Mom. She is the BEST!! Love you mom.

23 - Today I am thankful for my cousins. I am lucky to have so many GREAT cousins to call good friends. :) Love you guys!!

24 - Today I am greatful for the employers in Utah as well as the Governor for caring enough to send their people home before the storm. It was GREAT to see VERY little cars on the roads and VERY few accidents.

I did two for the 24th so I will post one of them for the 25th.

25-The day before Turkey day I have to do 2 thankfuls :) It is my mom's and Franks one year anniversay. I am thankful Frank (PaPa) for being there for my mom all these years.

And to finish off my month of Thanks I will post the rest here ;)

26 - I am thankful to live in the beautiful state of Utah. I love the changing seasons and the beauty of our state. I don't plan on retiring here but it's a GREAT place to raise my kids.

27 - I am thankful for my job (I can't remember if I did a thankful for this one yet....LOL). I don't make a lot of money and it isn't anything glamours but it helps pay the bills and it gives me something to do all day.

28 - I am thankful for the opportunity to obtain an education for me and my kids. There is some things with the education system that could be fixed but it helps my kids learn so I am thankful.

29 - Thankful for my heater and 4-wheel drive. The weather was horrible and I don't like driving on slick snowy roads so I am thankful for 4-wheel drive and it is SOOO cold outside so my heater is very WELCOME

30 - Today, my final day of thankful post and the final day of November I am thankful for another year I got to spend with my family. You never know what tomorrow will bring, who will still be here and who won't, I have taken SOO many days for granted in my life, days I can never get back. So for today I am thankful for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE I have in my life. I have lost so many loved ones, friends and family, and missed out on so many opportunities I am just thankful for the opportunity to know so many great people and have the options I am blessed to have.

Thankful Posts Week 3

So this week I concentrated on the little things and the 3 men in my life. I have had the GREAT privilege of knowing some great men. As I was growing up there were 4 men in my life that made the biggest impact on who I am today. My Grandfather Mills was the top, he is not only my grandpa but a father figure to me as well. Most little girls have their daddy to turn to. Well this isn't so for me. My father was never there for me. He didn't even want anything to do with me until I was 18. So the man I contribute my "father" to is my Grandpa. The other men were my Uncles Jay and Clark. I could always count on them. Jay even potty trained me :). Clark is my "twin" and a man I look up to. He is a GREAT father, grandfather, brother and uncle. The other man wasn't a man at all back then. He was my little brother. But he is my best friend. Today I have many men that I have respect and love for. But, growing up, when I needed it the most, I had only 4. So even though I didn't name two of them by name this week has been to the men in my life. Including my husband who has put up with me for the last 8 years.

14. Today I am thankful for my Aunts and Uncles. They have always been around and some even helped raise me (one potty trained me) they are great love them!!


15 - Today I am thankful for our modern ways. Indoor plumbing, running water, power that turns on with a switch, computers, TV's, heat (not from a little space heater), central air, toliet paper, toothbrushes and being able to run to the store for grocerys.


16 - Today I am thankful for my Cute Trailblazer :). I named her Beauty because she is a beauty next to the beast (Scott's truck). She is dependable (that's why she is a girl) and affordable. :)


17 - Today I am thankful for the beauty of the Earth, sunrises, sunsets, the snow on the mountains, the yellow leaves and the crisp cool fall weather. I am really grumpy today so enjoying the scenery is needed. It relaxes me :)


18 - Today I am thankful for my job. In this economy I very lucky to have it. I have meet great people and learned new things.


19 - Today I am thankful for my hubby. Everyone knows I am not an easy person to deal with let alone live with. He takes me in stride and he is still here!!! So thanks babe :)


20 - Today I am thankful for my little brother. He has always been the one person I can count on no matter what. He is always there for me and my kids. He would do anything for any of us and I couldn't ask for a better brother. Love ya Jas


21 - Today I am thankful for a man to honor as not only a Grandpa but a father figure as well. For a man I hold the highest level of respect for. This man is unlike any other and I love him more then words can say. Thankful today for my Grandfather Mac Mills.

Week two thanks

Here is the next week of my thankful posts.

8 - Today I am thankful for my friends. Some of them have stuck by me through all my teenage mishaps, teenage and adult trials as well as my happy moments. I am very lucky to have the friends I have. They are the BEST.

9 - Today I am thankful for my daughter MaKia. She is a very beautiful and caring young lady. "A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart." ~Author Unknown

10 - Today I am thankful for the 8+ wonderful years I have spent with McKenna. It has been an interesting roller coster ride but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

11 - Today I am thankful for our Veterans. I think there is one higher office than president and I would call that patriot. ~Gary Hart

12 - Today I am thankful for my son. He bring me so much joy. I would seriously be lost without Kaden. If I have a monument in this world, it is my son. -- Maya Angelou
13 - Today I am thankful for Sadez. Even though she moved back with her mom she still asks for my advice and keeps me updated. She is a good kid (well women :)


This week I am focusing on the simple things in life and how thankful I am for all our modern ways. Sometimes I take WAY to much for granted from the stove in my kitchen, to the bathroom with a flushing toliet in my house. I was born into modern times so I forget how lucky we all are. As the world progresses (for good and bad) and things get even more simple (or complex depending on how you look at it) I have to remember to be greatful because again I have more then most and I am very lucky to live in the times I live in.

Thankful Week 1

So I started doing the thankful post each day on facebook. I figure I should document these to make sure I keep it up all month.

I started on FB on the 3rd so here is my 1st and 2nd

1st - I am thankful for the changing leaves and cooler weather
2nd - I am thankful for the right to vote
3rd - Today I am thankful for the ability to workout. This means I have a healthy body :)

4th - Today I am thankful for coffee...Getting up at 4 is HARSH and my coffee helps me make it :)

5th - Today I am grateful for having the opportunity to know so many of my Grandparents. Not many are left but I was very lucky to have spent so much time with so many of them. I love them all.

6th - Today I am thankful for a roof over my head and food in my fridge. The roof isn't very nice but it's a home and the food isn't anything grand or very much but it still feeds us. For this I am thankful.

7th - Well today I am thankful for NFL (even if my team is loosing to the Browns). It gives my family something in common and something a father can talk to his teenage girls about and enjoy the time with the boy.


That is my first week of being thankful. I know I am very blessed even with all the trials I, as well as my family ,experience I have more then some. I am loved by many and I have a great support system full of friends and family. I always think the grass is greener on the other side, even though I know it isn't. I always want more then what I have, even though I am happy with what I have. I always look for bigger and better when I know I can't afford it and I really don't need it. It is the American Dream that I continue to chase and fail to catch, but I have already caught it. I don't need to open another door or look under another rock for my future or fortune I have it already. I have 2 beautiful children and 2 GREAT step kids. I have everything I need and more then I should ever want. For this I am THANKFUL. Enjoy your blessings... Until next week :)
